[email protected]Social ministry for widows & widowers to enjoy get-togethers, entertainment and fellowship with others who are on the same journey. St. Peter's Widows & Widowers Ministry was created in 2024, with its first event held on September 3, 2024. The vision was to bring together those who lost a spouse in order to share in community, fellowship, laughter, and of course, food! Each event includes a delicious meal, some fun ice-breakers and games, and special activities, such as the white elephant gift exchange at Christmas-time. The ministry has become so successful that individuals from other parishes now attend, as do some who are not even Catholic. What a wonderful testament to St. Peter's outreach to other faith communities and the larger Boerne/Hill Country community. We encourage attendees to bring a guest, if they are a little nervous about attending. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for cooking the main meal and to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas who help set up, serve and provide amazing desserts. We couldn't do this without them! Special thanks to Fr. Norm, Fr. David and Deacon Marty who always attend to share in this wonderful fellowship. Special thanks to Michelle Lee for starting and leading the ministry, and continuing to coordinate the events.
