Fr. Norman "Norm" A. Ermis
Fr. Norman A. Ermis, has been the pastor of St. Peter’s Parish for almost twelve years. He came to Boerne after serving twelve years as pastor of St. Margaret Mary’s Parish, nine years as Vice-Rector of Assumption Seminary, five-and-a-half years as pastor of San Alphonsus Parish, and three-and-a-half years as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family Parish, all in San Antonio. Fr. Norman has been serving as a priest of the Archdiocese of San Antonio for almost 42 years.
Fr. Norman has always been an advocate of Catholic education. He has personally been shaped and formed academically and spiritually through Catholic schools and universities for a total of sixteen-and-a-half years from St. Michael’s Elementary School in his home town of Weimar, Texas to his seminary and post-seminary studies at St. Mary’s University, Catholic University of America and Oblate School of Theology. He also earned a degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, which is Presbyterian.
Fr. Norman considers it a great privilege to be working collaboratively with Clarence & Tina Kahlig of the Kahlig Auto Group, the seed donors, some of his staff, St. Peter’s Parish leadership and councils, to build and open the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School, the first Catholic school built in the Archdiocese of San Antonio in the last 30 years. The school opens for its inaugural year on August 13, 2025 in our existing buildings as construction on the new 44,000 square foot building continues.
Fr. Norman anticipates retirement in the coming years, but wants first to see the fundraising, construction, organization and overall health of the new school to be fulfilled and completed successfully. His goal is to leave St. Peter’s Parish debt free, very active and vibrant, before retiring so the next pastor can pursue additional growth, development and expansion of the parish for a solid footing for the future.
